Custom Video Card Cooling Solution
Problem
Liquid-cooling a video card traditionally entails removing the stock air cooler and putting an aftermarket waterblock on the PCB. However, I am a big fan of the stock cooler’s aesthetics and would like to preserve it for my showcase build.
Objective
Liquid-cool the video cards whilst preserving the original aesthetic.
With the original heatsink removed (independent of the cooler shell), a small-form-factor water block can be used as the thermal interface. However, a custom adapter must be created in order to run the tubing in an aesthetically pleasing manner. The most aesthetically pleasing spot for the tubing to enter/exit the card is the side (far right edge on the top left picture).
